The short version

The tools on this site run entirely in your browser. The files you open, the text you paste and the numbers you type are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to us. We have no accounts, no logins and no database of your content, because there is nothing for us to store.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, your email address or any account details, because there is no way to create an account. We do not receive, store or transmit the contents of any file you open with a tool here, or any text you enter into one. If you disconnect from the internet after loading a page, most tools keep working, which is the clearest demonstration that the work happens locally.

Analytics

There is no analytics script on this site. No Google Analytics, no tracking pixel, no third party counter, and no cookie for measurement. Nothing on the page reports your visit anywhere.

What does exist is the ordinary access log our web server writes for every request, which is how we count page views and spot problems. Each line holds the time, the page requested, the site that referred you if any, the browser and device string your browser sends, and your network address with the last part removed before it is written, so a complete address is never stored. Those logs are kept for 14 days and then deleted automatically. We read them in aggregate, and there is nothing in them that identifies you.

Advertising

This site is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense to show a small number of ads, placed only below or beside a tool and never over the top of one. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure those ads, and in some regions may use them for personalised advertising based on your previous visits to this or other websites.

You can control this. Visit Google My Ad Center to manage or turn off personalised advertising, or aboutads.info for industry-wide opt outs. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set, and you can change that choice at any time.

Local storage

We store two small preferences in your browser's own local storage: whether you chose light or dark mode, and the last few tools you opened, which powers the "jump back in" list on the home page. This never leaves your device and you can clear it at any time by clearing site data in your browser.

Server logs

Like any website, our web server records standard request information such as the IP address, the time, the page requested and the browser's user agent. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure, and are rotated and deleted on a short schedule.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from them.

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
