About lorem ipsum

Lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin taken from a first century essay by Cicero, used since the 1500s to fill a layout with something that has the shape of language but no meaning. That is the whole point of it: a client reading the real copy stops looking at the design, and English filler like "your headline here" repeated twenty times reads as a pattern rather than as text.

What separates useful filler from useless filler is rhythm. Real prose has sentences of six words next to sentences of eighteen, with commas breaking the long ones, so a column of it has an uneven right edge and a natural texture. This generator draws every sentence length at random and places the clause breaks the same way, which is why pressing Generate again on the same settings gives you a different block rather than the same one. Filling a table rather than a paragraph is a different job: the random data generator makes names, emails and dates that agree with each other row by row.

Common questions about lorem ipsum

Why is the text different every time?

Because filler that repeats gives a false impression of the design. Each sentence here is built from a random number of words, between six and eighteen, and each paragraph from three to six sentences, so the block has the ragged texture of real writing. The same settings deliberately produce a new block on every run.

Is the word or paragraph count exact?

Yes. Ask for 40 words and you get exactly 40 words, ask for 7 sentences and you get exactly 7. The commas attach to a word rather than counting as one. Only the lengths inside that request are random, which is what keeps the count reliable while the text stays natural.
